The Transition Before the Transformation A Palm Sunday Reflection

🌿 The Transition Before the Transformation: A Palm Sunday Reflection

Palm Sunday, and the Space In Between

There are moments in life that don’t come with an announcement.

No warning.
No clear beginning.
Just a quiet realization that settles in and says:

“Wait… I’m here now.”

I felt that recently.

My daughter is about to graduate college in just a few short weeks.
And all of a sudden, I’m not just a mom raising a child…
I’m the mother of a young woman stepping into her life.

And somehow, that shift happened faster than I could have imagined.

At the same time, I find myself looking ahead—
not just at the next year…
but at the next 20, 25, maybe even 30 years of my life.

And for the first time, there’s a different kind of awareness.

A timeline.

Not in a fearful way…
but in a way that makes me pause and ask:

How do I want to live this next chapter?

🌿 Palm Sunday… and the Moment Everything Begins to Shift

This week, as I was thinking about all of this, I realized something.

It’s Palm Sunday—the day Jesus entered Jerusalem, beginning a journey that would change everything.

He was welcomed, celebrated, honored.

People waved palm branches.
They shouted Hosanna.
They believed something great was about to happen.

And it was.

But not in the way they expected.

What they saw as a moment of victory…
was actually the beginning of a transition.

A transition that would lead through uncertainty, pain, surrender—
and ultimately, transformation.

And when I was listening to a sermon this week, something stopped me.

A simple question Jesus asked:

“What are you seeking?”

It’s such a powerful question.

Not surface-level.
Not quick to answer.

The kind of question that, if you really sit with it…
has the ability to bring clarity in a way few things can.

And clarity—something I talk about often in my coaching—is powerful.

It shapes our decisions.
It directs our energy.
It becomes a guide for how we move forward.

So as I find myself in this season of transition…
that’s the question I’m asking:

What am I seeking?

✨ The Space In Between

I think many of us find ourselves here at some point.

Not at the beginning.
Not at the end.

But in the middle.

The space where something is ending…
and something else is trying to emerge.

For me, if I’m being honest, there is a quiet awareness that:

A version of my life is closing.

Even saying that feels strange.

Because I don’t feel “old.”
I don’t feel finished.

But I do feel… different.

More aware.
More intentional.
More conscious of how I spend my time, my energy, my life.

There aren’t infinite possibilities in the same way there once were.

And instead of that feeling limiting…
it’s actually becoming clarifying.

🌿 What’s Trying to Emerge

There’s something new forming.

I can feel it.

A version of myself that is:

Softer… but also stronger
More intentional.
More grounded in peace.
More focused on purpose.

And yet… even with that clarity, there’s still a gap.

The space between knowing and doing.

I know I’m being called into a new season.
I can feel it deep in my bones.

But stepping into it?

That’s the hard part.

That’s the part that requires faith.

Because when I really sit with that question…
the answer isn’t about doing more.

It’s about becoming more aligned.

I’m seeking peace.
I’m seeking purpose.
I’m seeking a life that feels intentional.
not rushed, not reactive, not driven by what I thought it should look like.

And in that clarity… there is direction.

Not a full blueprint.
But enough to take the next step.

✨ Letting Go of What I Thought It Would Be

I think one of the hardest parts of any transition is this:

Letting go of the picture we had in our mind.

I think I had an idea of what this stage of life would look like.

And now I’m realizing…

It’s not going to look like that.

And that’s hard.

Not because what’s ahead is bad—
but because it’s unknown.

Because it’s different.

Because it requires me to release something I once held onto.

And choose to believe that what’s ahead…
even if it looks different…

can still be good.

Can still be meaningful.

Can still be mine.

There was another line from that same message ( a beautiful and impactul sermon by Pastor Steven Furtick, from Elevation Church) that stayed with me:

“Focus on the favor of your life… not the flaws of it.”

And that hit me.

Because in seasons of transition, it’s easy to focus on:

What didn’t work
What didn’t happen
What looks different than we expected

But what if, instead…

We chose to focus on what’s still working?
What’s still unfolding?
What we’ve been given, not what we’ve lost?

That shift in focus changes everything.

It moves us from fear… to faith.
From lack… to trust.

Trust in God.

Trust in self.

🙏 The Message I’m Holding Onto

If I had to put words to what I feel God is saying in this season, it would be this:

“Trust me.”

Trust that you’re not alone.
Trust that you’re being guided.
Trust that this transition is not random.

It’s intentional.

There is a path, even if you can’t fully see it yet.

There is support, even if it feels unfamiliar.

There is something ahead…
that requires you to take a step before you feel ready.

Once again, God has sent a message.

And this time… I’m listening.

There are moments when we need reminders of what we’re choosing to believe.

Not just in our thoughts… but in what we carry with us every day.

That’s one of the reasons I created pieces within my Conviction Lion Collection
to reflect faith, courage, and the decision to move forward even when things feel uncertain.

🌿 Palm Sunday Isn’t the End

Palm Sunday wasn’t the destination.

It was the beginning of a journey that didn’t look the way anyone expected.

And maybe that’s where some of us are right now.

Standing at the edge of a new chapter…
not fully sure what it will look like…

but knowing that something is shifting.

✨ A Thought to Sit With

Not every transition feels clear.

Not every step feels comfortable.

But sometimes, the most important thing we can do…

is simply take the next step forward—

with faith.

If you’re in a season of transition too…

I’d love to ask you:

What are you seeking right now?
