You Find Your People… When You Least Expect It

You Find Your People… When You Least Expect It

Sometimes, when you feel like no one is listening… God reminds you that someone is.

There are moments in life when you feel like you’re putting something out into the world… and you’re not quite sure if it’s landing anywhere.

That’s where I’ve been.

After writing my last blog—after losing my beautiful cat, Starbright—I felt a mix of emotions. Grief, reflection, and honestly… a little bit of questioning.

Was anyone reading?
Was anything I was creating making a difference?
Was The Lion & The Cross reaching anyone at all?

And then… Easter Sunday happened.

✝️ A Walk I Didn’t Plan

I had heard there was something happening in Times Square. I didn’t know exactly what it was—something about a church gathering.

But something nudged me to go.

When I got there, I saw a large stage, Christian music playing, and a simple but powerful sign:

“Jesus.”

I felt drawn in.

So I did something spontaneous—I went live on TikTok.

I thought maybe a few people would find it interesting… something different happening right in the middle of New York City.

I had no idea what was about to unfold.

📱 Sharing Something Bigger Than Me

As I stood there, streaming live, I started interacting with people who joined.

And something shifted.

The comments weren’t just casual—they were meaningful.

One message stopped me.

A woman shared that she was bedbound, watching from home… and that by sharing this moment, I was bringing God into her space.

She said it was bringing her joy.

I can’t fully explain what that felt like.

In that moment, it wasn’t about TikTok.
It wasn’t about views or followers.

It was about connection.
It was about purpose.

It was about being a small part of something bigger than myself.

🎶 A Connection I Never Expected

Another person joined my live—and stayed.

We started talking.

Her name is Sonja Nagel.

A singer. A songwriter. A woman with an incredible voice and an even more beautiful heart.

She told me something that stopped me in my tracks:

“Something told me to stop and watch your live.”

We kept talking after that.

I started listening to her music—patriotic, faith-filled, powerful. The kind of music that doesn’t just sound good… it moves you.

I shared her songs with my audience.

And then something happened that I still can’t quite believe…

She wrote a song.

About The Lion & The Cross.

The Lion and The Cross Song Listen Here

She mentioned New York City.
She mentioned my name.

A song about faith.
About courage.
About freedom.

Everything this brand stands for.

I never asked her to do that.

I didn’t expect it.

And I was completely overwhelmed.

💛 Support I Didn’t See Coming

What touched me even more wasn’t just the song.

It was her heart.

She told me she believes in lifting other women up.
That she felt called to support me.
That she believes God led her to that moment.

She started sharing my website.
Encouraging people to support my brand.

Without asking for anything in return.

I even offered to send her something from the store…

She said no.

That kind of selfless support is rare.

And it hit me deeply.

Because if I’m being honest…

There are times I wonder if any of this is working.

If the hours…
The designs…
The blogs…
The posts…

Are reaching anyone at all.

✨ You Find Your People… Without Saying a Word

And then something like this happens.

And it reminds you.

You are reaching people.

Maybe not in the way you expected.

Maybe not at the scale you imagined.

But in the ways that matter most.

This brand has always stood for something deeper:

Faith. Courage. Freedom.

And somehow… through a random Easter Sunday in Times Square…

Through a TikTok live I almost didn’t do…

Through people I’ve never met in person…

That message connected.

🙏 A Different Kind of Success

Maybe The Lion & The Cross never becomes a massive e-commerce brand.

Maybe it does.

But what I realized that day is this:

Success isn’t just measured in sales.

It’s measured in connection.
In impact.
In moments where you realize…

You’re not alone.

That what you’re putting into the world…
is being felt by someone.

And sometimes, God sends encouragement in ways you never could have planned.

✝️ Keep Going

If you’re in a season where you’re wondering if it’s all worth it…

If anyone is noticing…
If anything you’re doing matters…

Let this be your reminder:

Keep going.

You never know who you’re reaching.
You never know who’s watching.
You never know what moment will turn into something meaningful.

And sometimes…

You find your people…

without saying a word.
